Jay L. Gershman, MBA, AIF®
President

Jay L. Gershman specializes in retirement and life planning for individuals, as well as advice and implementation of 401(k) and profit sharing plans for business.  As an independent registered representative of the SSN, Inc. since 1995, Jay implements unbiased plans based upon the varied needs of a diverse clientele. 

Jay began his career in 1991 as a financial consultant with Guardian Life Insurance Company.  In 1996 he founded Sound Advisors, Inc, an investment advisory firm in Farmington, Connecticut and continued there until 2000 when he joined AdviceOne LLC and served as Senior Vice President.  In 2007, Jay Formed Retirement Visions LLC, a retirement planning firm.

Jay graduated cum laude with B.S. degrees in Biology and Finance and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.  He has served his fellow financial planners as President of both the Hartford Council and the 700-member State of Connecticut Financial Planning Association boards as well as on national committees. He is currently the President of the board of directors of Solomon Schechter Day School.

Cheryl S. Hinze, MBA, CLTC
Cheryl S. Hinze, MBA, CLTC, a veteran financial advisor with deep roots in Connecticut, has recently joined the Retirement Visions family. Cheryl will provide financial planning and investment management services to individuals and business owners; she will also lead the fiduciary reporting process for 401(k) plans, and educate and counsel 401(k) participants.

Like Jay, Cheryl believes in a holistic approach that takes clients� life goals into consideration during the financial planning process. With her patient, insightful approach, she is able to break down complex financial decisions into small, easily understandable steps, and is committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

Cheryl is a polished professional and holds numerous securities registrations, including FINRA Series 7, General Securities; Series 66, State Securities/Advisor; and Series 24, Securities Principal. Additionally, she is licensed for Life and Health Insurance; is certified as a producer by the Connecticut Partnership for Long-Term Care; and, has achieved the professional designation, Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC).

She received both her BS in Management and MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York. Prior to joining Retirement Visions LLC, she worked at Levine, Gottfried & Somberg, LLC, where she specialized in client relations. She was also an adjunct faculty member at both Tunxis Community College and Central Connecticut State University, teaching a variety of business, accounting, and computer science classes.

In her spare time, Cheryl is an active board member of the Commission on Jewish Education and Leadership. She also enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She and her husband John live in Farmington and have two children: a son Seth in Seattle, Washington and a daughter Rachel in upstate New York .
